The outstanding team from Garrett’s Barber Shop and Founders Pomade made the journey down I-84 to Farmington to witness firsthand the fruits of their labor and experience the power of Hartford’s Camp Courant. Owner of Garrett’s Barber Shop and President of Founders Garrett Kenny, was joined by his Vice President Elias DiMichele to present a $3,000 check to Camp which in turn will create endless possibilities for almost 700 children on campus this season.
Camp enters its 120th year in service to the youth of Hartford and would not have been able to sustain this success without dedicated individuals and organizations like Garrett’s Barber Shop who have made children a priority in their giving. For the 2nd year in a row, the Shop put together a ‘Cuts for Camp’ CAMPaign, in which they donated ALL proceeds from haircuts from a Saturday event in April. In addition, the team which oversees and manufactures the stylish hair product Founders Pomade, donated .50 cents of each individual sale of pomade from January to April back to Hartford’s kids. “We are honored that Garrett and his team have been so passionate about making a difference here at Camp. His dedication to children and providing them with a pathway to possibility is an example to us all” commented Josh Reese, Executive Director & CEO of HCC. Garrett Kenny added “Camp gives these amazing kids the opportunity to spend their summer having fun, learning, and developing skills for the future. We love the work being done by Camp and we feel privileged to help in any way possible if it means a few more kids have this opportunity.”
