On February 21st, the oldest and largest free summer program in the United States continued its outstanding work in service to the youth of Hartford by holding its 2nd Annual Arch Street Tavern event. More than 150 guests participated in a wonderful evening promoting the mission in making a difference in the life of a child. As part of its yearly ‘Send a Kid to Camp’ CAMPaign, the Arch Street event raised more than $15,000 for the children of Hartford. Master of Ceremonies Jim Altman of FoxCT news entertained a joyous crowd and welcomed a wide range of special guests that included Hartford’s Mayor Pedro Segarra, Congressman John Larson, and Senator Richard Blumenthal. More than 50 local corporations and businesses contributed to the event that was led by major sponsors Aetna, Arch Street Tavern, Connecticut Light and Power, and Sullivan & LeShane. Many thanks to all who participated either as a sponsor or guest in what turned out to be a superb event celebrating an organization who has assisted children for more than 119 years!
Special thanks to Mary Ellen Fillo of the Hartford Courant and FoxCT for their outstanding coverage of Hartford’s Camp Courant 2nd Annual Arch Street Tavern Event
