The Bank of America Junior Leaders Program is Hartford’s Camp Courant year-long, counselor-in-training in program. During their last year as a camper, they can apply to become a Junior Leader. Campers are identified by current Junior Leaders, and are selected based on their leadership potential, ability to communicate, respect for other campers, honesty, responsibility and willingness to learn.
The program begins in September, and workshops and lessons revolve around the themes of self-esteem, diversity, work ethic, team building and communication, money management, conflict resolution, self-awareness, stress management and community service.
During the months of July and August, the Junior Leaders put the skills they have acquired into practice by serving as counselor-in-training during the Camp season.
In the News: Bank of America Junior Leaders Help the Homeless
Our Bank of America Junior Leaders did an outstanding job supporting and volunteering at "The Groom Room" event hosted by Safe Deposit Box Mentoring on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at South Congregational Church in Hartford.
Local businesses donated their time, supplies and services to provide haircuts, manicures, food, massages and clothing to the Hartford area homeless. The Junior Leaders assisted at every station and were also "personal shoppers" for those selecting the donated clothing, shoes and outerwear. They re-stocked food and supplies, packed toiletry care kits, and gave a special dance performance at the end of the event. Several Junior Leaders and their families even donated large amounts of toiletries, clothing and food for the homeless.
