Hartford’s Camp Courant ‘Mike & Camp in the Evening’ is Huge Success
During his daily routine of talking sports for ESPN Radio’s highly successful ‘Mike and Mike in the Morning’, Mike Golic covers a variety of topics for sports fans of all backgrounds and preferences. This time was very different, as the Golic family ventured to downtown Hartford for an evening to benefit the children of the Capital City. Hartford’s Camp Courant was proud to welcome the Golic family and 50 special guests to the luxurious Max Downtown for ‘Mike & Camp in the Evening,’ a fundraiser to benefit Camp, which is currently celebrating 120 years of service to the youth of Hartford. This unique fundraising event was sponsored by TD Bank, as featured delicious food offerings from the well know Max team, as well as refreshing options from Winam Wines of Farmington. Proceeds from the event went directly to Camp, which is the oldest and largest FREE summer program currently in the United States. Fox CT’s Ben Goldman was the emcee for the evening, inviting questions from the crowd and taking Mr. Golic through different talking points about the world of sports. Collegiate athletics, the NFL, concussions, race relations, and parental involvement in youth sports were the topics for the evening’s discussion. The Golic family has made Camp their charity of choice here in Connecticut as they proudly reside in Avon and wanted to support a cause close to home. Golic’s effort last year with a campaign for Turtle Wax, combined with a holiday event at Fairfield Prep, and last night’s evening has raised tens of thousands of dollars in making a difference for Hartford’s kids.
