We are grateful to be working safely from our homes while making plans for our upcoming 126th summer camp season.
While focusing first and foremost on the health and safety of our campers, we are excited to tell you about some innovative changes that will be in place this summer. Hartford’s Camp Courant is the oldest and largest FREE summer day program in the country, and our programs provides Hartford’s youth, ages five-12, with an opportunity to build meaningful and positive relationships with fellow campers and staff, learn, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! As we envision what Camp Courant looks like through the lens of the current global situation, we realize we still have the ability to serve Hartford’s kids and can provide them with an amazing opportunity to share the summer with us.
A typical summer at Camp Courant takes place on our campgrounds in Farmington, however what Camp Courant has to offer to the wonderful youth we serve is not confined to the limits of our 36 acres campus. Camp Courant is about friendship, laughter, learning, and sharing, and our dedicated staff is committed to making it happen year after year!
For the 2020 camp season, I am excited to announce that we are bringing all the wonders of Camp Courant directly to our campers!
The Camp Courant staff is hard at work developing fun & educational activities that our campers can enjoy right from their homes, their neighborhoods and their parks. We are doing this with the guidance of state public health officials and the Office of Early Childhood to ensure the safety of all. This unique Camp experience will provide hundreds, even thousands, of Hartford’s kids with hands-on activities designed to teach problem-solving, provide educational tools to help bridge the summer learning gap and, most importantly, bring fun and games for our kids to get outside and enjoy!
Details on our 2020 Camp Program and instructions on how to register your child will be available soon.
